Jason Adam Converts His Second Save On Thursday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jason Adam closed out the team's 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday to earn his second save of the year. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits and one walk while striking out one. Andrew Kittredge (elbow), who leads the Rays with five saves on the year, landed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday and he is expected to miss at least a month. Adam is now one of four active Rays relievers with multiple saves on the year. We're likely to see a variety of different relievers utilized in the ninth inning in the coming months. Adam has arguably been the best of the bunch with his 0.72 ERA and 0.64 WHIP on the year.
