J.D. Martinez Goes 2-for-3, Doubles Versus Angels
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez went 2-for-3 with a double on Monday as the Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels 1-0 in the series opener. Martinez is currently on a four-game hitting streak, and the 34-year-old is 5-for-16 over that stretch with two extra-base hits and three runs scored. Martinez is off to a great start in 2022. So far this season, Martinez ranks in the 90th percentile in barrel rate, the 98th percentile in xSLG and the 98th percentile in xOBA. For his career, Martinez is 1-for-2 lifetime against Reid Detmers, Tuesday's starting pitcher for the Angels.
