Diego Castillo Earns Third Save Of Season Monday
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Diego Castillo picked up his third save of the season in Monday's 7-4 win over the Astros. Castillo entered to pitch the ninth inning with a three-run lead. He got the first two outs on a ground out and line out, walked a batter, and then got the final out on another ground out. The 28-year-old has converted all three of his save opportunities this season and has a 3-0 record, but he also has a 5.85 ERA and 4.05 BB/9 rate over 20 innings pitched. The Mariners have not had a clear approach to saves this season, and Castillo's poor overall performance limits his fantasy value at this time, even in deep roto leagues.
