The Tampa Bay Rays activated closer Andrew Kittredge (back) from the injured list on Sunday and optioned right-hander Calvin Faucher to the minors in a corresponding move. Kittredge only threw one inning on a minor league rehab assignment and struck out one in a scoreless frame before returning to the Rays bullpen. His return is good timing with J.P. Feyereisen on the injured list. Kittredge returns to a 3.00 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, five saves, 13 strikeouts and one walk in 18 relief innings for Tampa this year, and he should immediately return to closing duties. Fantasy managers should get him right back into their starting lineups.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge (knee) will start a minor-league rehab assignment on Sunday at High-A Aberdeen. Kittredge is ready to pitch in minor-league games after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee back in spring training. Because of the long layoff, the Orioles probably will not be in any rush to bring the 35-year-old back off the injured list. However, barring a setback with his surgically-repaired knee, Kittredge should make his 2025 debut sometime in May. Felix Bautista is the club's unquestioned closer when healthy, but Kittredge figures to be a high-leverage, late-inning setup man for Baltimore when he returns. He was a first-time All-Star back with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021 and has 16 career saves in eight MLB seasons. Kittredge had a 2.80 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with a save and 67 K's in 70 2/3 innings last year with St. Louis.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge (knee) will throw a live batting practice session on Wednesday. It will be the first time that Kittredge will face live hitters since having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during spring training in March. The 35-year-old veteran reliever began the 2025 season on the 15-day injured list but is making good progress and could be ready to come off the IL for his season debut in May. When healthy, Kittredge could develop into a key late-inning setup man for the Orioles in front of closer Felix Bautista. If he's able to get through a couple live batting practice sessions, Kittredge should be cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment sooner than later. He has yet to pitch in 2025 for Baltimore but was an All-Star in 2021 with the Rays and had a 2.80 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 70 2/3 frames a year ago.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge's (knee) recovery from left-knee surgery is "flying along," according to general manager Mike Elias. Kittredge will throw live batting practice the week after next before going on a minor-league rehab assignment. Barring a setback along the way, the 35-year-old veteran could return from the injured list before the end of May. Kittredge threw his first bullpen session over the weekend after having arthroscopic knee surgery. It sounds like he is recovery very nicely, but he might still be over a month away from making his debut with the Orioles. When healthy, Kittredge figures to be in the mix as a high-leverage, late-inning bullpen arm for the O's. He was an All-Star in 2021 and had a 2.80 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and one save in 70 2/3 innings with the St. Louis Cardinals a year ago. He hasn't had an ERA over 3.15 since 2019 and also sports 16 career saves.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Andrew Kittredge (knee) was playing catch in the outfield on Saturday. The reliever is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery he underwent earlier in the spring. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression, but given that he has yet to throw on the mound, he is still several months away from returning. Last season, Kittredge enjoyed a productive campaign operating as a set-up man in St. Louis. Across 70 2/3 innings of work, the 35-year-old posted a 2.80 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He tallied 37 holds and held a 67:20 BB:K. He generated a modest 3.97 xERA and a .250 xBA, which suggests he could see some regression when he returns to the bump. When he returns to the mound, he will likely see high-leverage opportunities in Baltimore.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
