Giancarlo Stanton Resting Sunday
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is taking the day off on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers. Stanton was activated from the injured list on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a double, but he'll get a day off in the series finale against Detroit. The 32-year-old has been a must-start this year when on the field, as he's hitting .284/.337/.523 with an .860 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 172 plate appearances over 41 games. Josh Donaldson will serve as the DH and bat cleanup, while DJ LeMahieu gets the start at third base and is hitting leadoff on Sunday against Tigers right-hander Rony Garcia. LeMahieu has been hot at the plate recently and makes for a solid DFS target out of the leadoff spot for the Yanks.
