NASCAR Xfinity Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Portland Pacific Automation 147 (6/4/22)

The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Portland on Saturday for a standalone race at Portland International Raceway. This is the first time the Xfinity Series has been to this track. The Truck Series has run here twice before, but not since 2000, when Andy Houston won in a race that featured drivers like Joe Ruttman and Rick Ware—yep, that Rick Ware.

Last week, Xfinity was at Charlotte, where Josh Berry led 89 laps on his way to victory lane. A.J. Allmendinger still leads the point standings, while Noah Gragson is in second.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Xfinity Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Xfinity DFS lineup picks for the Pacific Automation 147 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Xfinity Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station. This slate locks on 6/4/22 at 4:44 p.m. ET.

Xfinity DFS Picks - DraftKings

Be sure to also check out all of our other weekly NASCAR DFS articles and analysis to help you set your optimal DFS lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Ty Gibbs ($10,600) - Starting 6th

Gibbs has proven himself to be good at road courses. In seven Xfinity starts on road courses, Gibbs has an average finish of 13.3, with two wins and three top fives.

He was only 15th in the one road course race run so far this year, but he did lead a lap. Gibbs is always a threat to win and should be able to make some early moves, with only one driver ahead of him (Sam Mayer) on the starting grid running in comparable equipment.

AJ Allmendinger ($10,500) - Starting 10th

Allmendinger is the best road racer in the series, so of course you need to have exposure to him this week, especially as he starts 10th, which introduces a little place differential upside to the equation.

Allmendinger is in the unique position among Xfinity regulars of having a decent bit of experience here. He actually led 100 of the 105 laps of a CART (or whatever the series was called at the time) race here in 2006. Sure, it's been awhile, but that experience still plays a factor. None of the other top drivers in this race have won here. Allmendinger was dominant in that win. He's been consistent all season and should be in contention for the win.

Ryan Sieg ($8,800) - Starting 27th

Lot of place differential upside here for Sieg, who starts 27th. In one road course start this season, Sieg started 35th at COTA and finished 11th.

One thing you want when you come to a new track is to find veteran drivers who know how to bring a car home clean. Sieg...hasn't done that the last two weeks, as he crashed at Texas and Charlotte, but he usually does a good job of managing his equipment finishing around 10th.

Connor Mosack ($8,500) - Starting 8th

Alright, now it's road course ringer time, starting with Mosack.

Usually, I like ringers who start deep in the field, because I value their intelligence on these tracks, as it helps them navigate traffic and improve upon their starting position by the end of the race.

But that's not the case with Mosack, who starts in the top 10. So, why play him?

Because he's in the Joe Gibbs No. 18 car, which has race-winning speed. Mosack is running full-time in the Trans Am TA2 division, where he went on a nice run to end last season, with four podiums late in the year.

Mason Filippi ($6,300) - Starting 29th

Filippi takes the wheel of the Mario Gosselin 91 car, which has had some decent runs this season, including a 14th at COTA with Preston Pardus in the car. That was the second year in a row Pardus had started at the track in the car and finished 14th.

So, we know the 91 can run solid on a road course. But what about Filippi?

Well, his Racing Reference page looks like this:

But while he hasn't raced in series that are big enough to be on RR, he has run a lot of races. His best experience is in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, where he has three wins in 20 starts.

Darren Dilley ($5,200) - Starting 32nd

Finally, we have Dilley, who is in the Sieg 38 car this week. Like Filippi, Dilley has no Xfinity experience, so you probably should avoid playing both in the same lineup. (This is a good time to mention Gray Gaulding is $6,200 and is in a JD Motorsports car this week, so he should have a good bit more speed than usual.)

Dilley will pilot a car that's finished as high as fourth this season and had top 15 runs at non-superspeedways from guys like Joe Graf Jr. and Parker Retzlaff.

What's intriguing about Dilley is that he's not a full-time racer. He's a PE teacher. But he has something that not much of this field has, which is experience here. The Oregon native has plenty of experience here, racing amateur races for decades. This could be a great story if he can turn that experience into a top 20.
