Jean Segura Expected To Be Out 10-12 Weeks
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Jean Segura (finger) was diagnosed with a fractured right index finger and he was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. According to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philly, Segura will be out for 10 to 12 weeks. The 32-year-old veteran has been a key contributor to the team's offense per usual this year. Over 44 games, he's slashed .275/.324/.407 with six home runs, eight stolen bases, 19 RBI and 22 runs. Johan Camargo is getting the start at second base on Wednesday and he should see increased playing time going forward. We could also see rookie Bryson Stott get another chance at steady playing time.
