2 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer is absent from the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against right-hander Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals. Jake Cronenworth will be covering first base for the game. Following a fantastic opening month to the year, Hosmer cooled off significantly in May. He posted a .389/.457/.597 slash line in April, but he's only managed a .255/.318/.316 slash line in May, hitting just four extra-base hits (three doubles, one home run).--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
