3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs activated infielder Nico Hoerner (ankle) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. The team placed catcher Yan Gomes (oblique) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Hoerner had been sidelined for about two weeks due to a right ankle sprain. He is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game, but he is presumably available off the bench. Over 29 games this year, the 25-year-old is slashing .271/.293/.396 with two home runs, two stolen bases, 11 RBI and six runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
