Jhoan Duran Earns Fourth Save Of Season Tuesday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Jhoan Duran notched his fourth save of the season in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers. Duran entered to pitch the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff single, got the first out on a flyout, hit a batter, and then induced a groundball double play to end the game. The 24-year-old rookie has done a very nice job out of the bullpen for the Twins this season, compiling a 2.53 ERA with 31 strikeouts and three walks over 21 1/3 innings pitched. Emilio Pagan is still first on the team in save opportunities, but it appears that Duran is second in the mix and may still be able to earn a considerable amount of saves given how the Twins use their bullpen. He is currently rostered in 42 percent of leagues and is worth a roster spot in at least deeper roto leagues at this time.
