Jorge Lopez Locks Down His Fifth Save On Monday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Jorge Lopez closed out the team's 6-4 win over the New York Yankees on Monday to earn his fifth save of the year. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one walk and no hits. Lopez blew each of his previous two save opportunities, so it was encouraging to see the team go back to him on Monday. Felix Bautista, who earned a pair of saves while Lopez was on the bereavement list earlier this month, was utilized in the seventh and eighth innings in this game. He's the biggest threat to Lopez's ninth inning role, but it looks as if he'll primarily be a setup man for now.
