Matt Carpenter Released By Rangers
3 years agoThe Texas Rangers released infielder Matt Carpenter from his minor league deal on Thursday. The 36-year-old had been putting together a nice year at Triple-A. Over 21 games, he slashed .275/.379/.613 with six home runs, 19 RBI and 15 runs. Carpenter spent the entirety of his MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals prior to this season. Last year, he struggled immensely at the plate, slashing .169/.305/.275 with just three home runs over 130 games. We'll see if another team is willing to take a chance on the three-time All-Star.
