Luis Gonzalez Headed To Triple-A
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants will be optioning outfielder Luis Gonzalez to Triple-A Sacramento, according to Robert Murray of MLB Insider. The news is a bit surprising as the 26-year-old has been one of the team's best offensive producers in recent weeks. Over 21 games with the Giants, he's slashed .349/.397/.492 with two home runs, three stolen bases, 15 RBI and 11 runs. The Giants have welcomed a number of their veteran hitters back from injuries lately and Gonzalez's demotion is likely a result of that. Assuming Gonzalez can stay productive at Triple-A, we're likely to see him back in the majors at some point relatively soon.
