Padres Close To Signing Robinson Cano
Robinson Cano, according to sources. The New York Mets released Cano on Sunday after he hit only .195 with one home run, three RBI and three runs scored in his first 12 games of the season. However, the 39-year-old had an .896 OPS in 2020 before he was suspended for all of the 2021 season, and the left-handed-hitting veteran also swung a hot bat this spring training. Cano is clearly past his prime, but the Padres haven't gotten much production out of their designated hitter spot in the early going, and he could also provide depth at the keystone behind the struggling Jake Cronenworth. It's still unlikely that Cano would provide consistent fantasy stat lines in a part-time role in San Diego.

Robinson Cano Removed Due To Dizziness On Friday
Robinson Cano (head) was removed from Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels due to dizziness. His removal came in the third inning before his first at-bat of the game. Orlando Arcia came in as a pinch-hitter for him. Cano has played in six games with the Braves since being traded to the team for cash considerations earlier this month. He's gone 4-for-18 with a double over that six-game stretch. He will continue serving as one of the team's replacements for second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot), who is expected to remain out until at least mid-August.

Robinson Cano Joins Braves Roster
Robinson Cano has been recalled to the big league roster on Monday. The 39-year-old was acquired by the Braves in a trade with the San Diego Padres over the weekend. The veteran second baseman is hitting .149/.182/.189 with one homer in 77 plate appearances this season. He offers basically nothing in terms of fantasy production at this stage in his career. However, he'll likely get a decent amount of at-bats in Atlanta, especially against right-handed pitching. Fantasy managers can wait until Cano does something before rostering him.

Braves Plan To Activate Robinson Cano On Monday
Robinson Cano, prior to Monday's game against his former team, the New York Mets. The Braves acquired Cano from the San Diego Padres in exchange for cash considerations on Sunday. The Braves are Cano's third team this season. He played in exactly 12 games for both the Mets and the Padres. The 39-year-old veteran hasn't been able to settle in at the plate yet this year, slashing just .149/.182/.189.

Braves Acquire Robinson Cano
Robinson Cano from the San Diego Padres for cash considerations. They will receive the 39-year-old slugger on a veteran minimum deal. The New York Mets are on the hook for $24 million after releasing Cano earlier in the season. Cano has struggled with the bat this season and isn't worth a look in fantasy leagues. He'll likely get a decent amount of playing time in Atlanta, but it's unlikely he has much to offer at this point in his career.
