3 years agoThe Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Edward Olivares (quad) on the 10-day injured list on Monday. The 26-year-old is dealing with a right quad strain. Catcher Sebastian Rivero was recalled by the Royals in a corresponding move. The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Olivares, who had been seeing a lot of time at the leadoff spot for the team and performing well. He extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 1-for-2 effort on Sunday. It's unclear how severe the injury is at this point. Michael A. Taylor stands to see increased playing time with Olivares out and Bobby Witt Jr. is likely to prevail as the team's primary leadoff hitter for now.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
