Royce Lewis To Be Promoted For MLB Debut On Friday
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins will be promoting shortstop prospect Royce Lewis on Friday following the injury to Carlos Correa (finger). He will make his MLB debut in Friday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Lewis is rated as the team's No. 1 prospect and as the 44th overall prospect in the majors by MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old was selected first overall in the 2017 MLB draft. Over 23 games at Triple-A this year, he has slashed .310/.427/.560 with three home runs, 10 doubles, eight stolen bases, 11 RBI and 20 runs scored. He's well worthy of being added in all deep leagues and AL-only leagues right now. He can even be considered in more shallow leagues if you need shortstop help. Correa's timeline is a bit unclear right now, but the expectation is that he will land on the injured list. At the very least, Lewis will have some time to prove he belongs in the majors while Correa is out.
