Matt Brash Optioned To Triple-A
3 years agoThe Seattle Mariners optioned starting pitcher Matt Brash to Triple-A on Thursday. The 23-year-old suffered his third loss of the year against the Houston Astros on Wednesday. He allowed six hits, four walks and four earned runs over three innings in the game. Over his first five MLB starts, he had an ugly 7.65 ERA and 2.05 WHIP with 19 strikeouts and 17 walks. Brash has a great deal of upside, as shown by his 2.31 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 13.1 K/9 at Double-A and High-A last year, but clearly he has some work to do before finding success in the majors. He can be dropped in all standard season-long fantasy leagues, but dynasty league managers should continue to hold on hope.
