Brandon Woodruff Sporting A 5.18 ERA Over Five Starts
3 years agoIt's been an up-and-down start to the year for Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff. The 29-year-old was shelled in his season debut, giving up seven earned runs over 3 2/3 innings. He then went on to pitch 11 scoreless innings over his next two starts before running into trouble yet again in his next two outings after that. Overall, through five starts this year, Woodruff is 3-1 with a 5.18 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 29.8% strikeout rate. He hasn't made any notable changes in his pitch mix this year as he's still mixing in all five of his pitches while leading with his four-seamer. We expect to see better numbers on a more consistent basis going forward. He lines up for a pair of favorable starts next week, facing the Cincinnati Reds on Monday and the Miami Marlins on Sunday.
