Gary Payton II Diagnosed With Elbow Fracture
3 years agoGolden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II (elbow) was fouled hard by Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Dillon Brooks during Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Tuesday. The incident led to Brooks being ejected from the game. After the game, it was announced that Payton had been diagnosed with a fractured left elbow. He is scheduled to have an MRI on Wednesday. This is rough news for the 29-year-old, who was averaging 15.9 minutes per game this postseason. The MRI will help determine the length of his absence, but it's safe to say that he won't be back on the court for at least the remainder of this current series. Damion Lee could see his minutes go up in the coming games with Payton out. We could also see the team go with some bigger lineups more frequently based on the team's current personnel.
