DraftKings USFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 3: Daily Fantasy Football Advice

USFL DFS lineup picks draftkings daily fantasy football

Justin Carter's top USFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings for the second week of the 2022 USFL season. These Week 3 picks vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

The third week of the USFL is here. How 'bout that spring football!  The Breakers and Stallions are the only 2-0 teams in the league, while the Panthers and Maulers both sit winless so far this season.

In this article I will be providing you with daily fantasy football USFL DFS picks on DraftKings for Week 3 of the USFL season. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

USFL Quarterback DFS Picks

Bryan Scott (Philadelphia Stars) - vs New Jersey Generals ($10,100)

Scott's been the best QB in the league by a wide margin. He leads the league in passing yards with 474 and is one of just two quarterbacks with a completion percentage over 70. He's thrown four touchdowns, which also leads the league. And while Scott has thrown a pair of interceptions, his other numbers make up for that. He's also added a rushing touchdown as well, because why not!

This week could be tougher, as he faces the Generals, who held Michigan to six points last week. But was that because the Generals defense is good...or because the Panthers have been very bad? The Generals did allow 211 passing yards to the Stallions in Week 1, so I'm leaning "Panthers have been that bad" and am loading up on the USFL's best offense this week.

Kyle Sloter (New Orleans Breakers) - vs Birmingham Stallions ($9,700)

The Breakers demolished the Bandits last week, putting up 34 points. Sloter was 25-for-39 for 266 yards and two touchdowns and also scored a rushing touchdown. He hasn't been quite as consistently good as Scott, but there's a reason Sloter was in the NFL not too long ago: he's a solid backup quarterback. That essentially makes him a star in a league like the USFL.

USFL Running Back DFS Picks

T.J. Logan (New Orleans Breakers) - vs Birmingham Stallions ($7,700)

Logan didn't lead the Breakers in carries last week. In fact, Logan had 10 carries while Jordan Ellis had 21. But it was Logan's passing game usage — as well as his general efficiency — that makes him the Breakers running back I'm targeting this week. Against the Bandits, Logan had 10 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown, plus added four catches for 29 yards. Ellis, meanwhile, was targeted just once. I think stacking Sloter and Logan is really intriguing and might be a better play than stacking Sloter with most of his wideouts, just because he seems to spread the ball around. (The exception is a Sloter and Jonathan Adams stack)

Paul Terry (Philadelphia Stars) - vs. New Jersey Generals ($3,400)

This week's value play, Terry won't get as many opportunities as you'd like because of the way this offense operates, but he can do solid things with the chances he has. In his first USFL game last week, he had eight carries for 33 yards, plus caught two of his four targets for 16 yards. Getting that amount of touches for just $3,400 is the kind of deal that I really, really like. And considering he had 80% of the positioning rushing attempts last week, I think we can expect the volume to be there again, especially when the only other running back with a carry finished with negative yards.

USFL Wide Receiver/Tight End DFS Picks

Lance Lenoir Jr. (Michigan Panthers) - vs Pittsburgh Maulers ($8,100)

I don't trust the Michigan offense aside from trusting that Shea Patterson (or whoever starts in Week 3, because Patterson has not been good!) will target Lance Lenoir, because Lenoir is basically the safety valve on this team. He was targeted nine times last week, with no other Panther getting more than four, and while he finished with four catches for 23 yards, he almost hauled in a huge long touchdown, except the pass wasn't thrown well. Did that moment cost me some money? Yes. Am I going back to Lenoir because of his volume? Also yes.

Bailey Gaither (Pittsburgh Maulers) - vs Michigan Panthers ($4,800)

With his former college teammate now at quarterback, Gaither put up big numbers in Week 2, with nine targets, which he turned into seven catches for 117 yards and a score. This week, he gets a Michigan defense that hasn't proven it can make stops. Gaither is great value, plus you could save some salary at QB by stacking him with Josh Love.

Jonathan Adams (New Orleans Breakers) - vs Birmingham Stallions ($3,800)

Don't go too crazy on Breakers players, but Adams was targeted nine times last week, catching five of them for 92 yards. He was a dud in Week 1 with just one reception, but you can take advantage of this price and hope Week 1 was a fluke.

Chris Rowland (Philadelphia Stars) - vs New Jersey Generals ($3,400)

Rowland missed last week's game with a shoulder injury, but was a huge part of this offense in Week 1, when he was targeted nine times, pulling in seven catches for 74 yards. With injuries impacting a couple of Stars receivers and Rowland practicing in full, it looks like the Chris Rowland Hype Train is back on. And at $3,400, I'll have him in a lot of lineups. Unless he's inactive again, in which case I might switch over to Stars tight end Bug Howard.

USFL D/ST DFS Picks

Pittsburgh Maulers - vs Michigan Panthers ($3,500)

Last week, the Generals held Michigan to six points. In Week 1, the Gamblers picked off the Panthers and had three sacks and recovered a pair of fumbles.

I think playing the defense that takes on Michigan is a good decision. Let's do that.
