Our new NASCAR “By the DFS Numbers” Race Previews feature a combination of statistical package highlights from Loop Data reports and the RotoBaller Cup Series Research Station.
Loop Data, which are the advanced statistics that are electronically recorded by NASCAR to more accurately illustrate how drivers perform, are showcased here as very relevant indicators. Loop Data stats are useful in DFS NASCAR to tell us which drivers have performed the best at particular tracks. They determine how a driver actually fares without the negative factors of crashes, car issues, and pit problems. Do keep in mind that with the Cup Series now featuring the Next Gen car, Loop Data statistics are helpful, but not rigid factors when projecting performances.

All Loop Data stats are for the last four races at Talladega Superspeedway dating back to 2020 unless otherwise indicated. We use DraftKings prices as a basis, but most of what we recommend should also be applied to FanDuel lineup builds.
Ryan Blaney: Second in Driver Rating at Talladega over the last four races dating back to 2020 (97.8). Excellent Place Differential target starting from the 22nd position. Most Projected Fantasy Points this week (53.05).
Joey Logano: Third in Driver Rating at Talladega over the last four races dating back to 2020 (97.2). First in Laps Led (97). Series-Best Driver Rating Gained of 19.8 vs. Similar Drivers in recent Talladega events. Also leads in Fantasy Points Gained vs. Similar Drivers in recent Talladega events (26.6).
Brad Keselowski: Leads in Driver Rating at Talladega over the last four races dating back to 2020 (106.0). Leads in Quality Passes (Passes of Cars in the Top 15 while under Green Flag Conditions, 1.027).
Chase Elliott: Third in Green Flag Passes (931). A terrific Place Differential Play starting from 28th. Second-most projected Fantasy Points (51.75).
William Byron: Second in Green Flag Passes (1,593). Second in Quality Passes (944).
Alex Bowman: A good PD target starting from 27th. Projected to score 42.80 Fantasy Points.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: Starts 26th and is projected to score 43.30 Fantasy Points, the most of any driver below $9700.
