Jordan Romano Records His Seventh Save
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano took over for starter Kevin Gausman in the ninth inning of Thursday's game against the Boston Red Sox. He had a bit of a rocky inning as he allowed one hit, one walk and one earned run, but he managed to maintain the team's lead and lock down his seventh save in as many opportunities. Romano now leads the majors in saves, pulling ahead of Josh Hader, who has six. Romano has a 1.29 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP over the seven innings he's pitched this year. If he can stay healthy and effective, he could very well wind up leading the majors in saves.
