Luis Robert Hitless Over His Last Five Games
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert has been slumping at the plate over the last week. Across his last five games, he's gone 0-for-20 with no walks, four strikeouts and a stolen base. The 24-year-old looked good out of the gate this year, starting the year off with a five-game hitting streak that included two home runs and a double. Most of his underlying stats look strong in the early going. His average exit velocity (91.3 mph) is right where it was last year (91.2 mph). Same deal with his hard-hit rate, which is at 45.7%, slightly up from 45.1% last year. Despite his actual .350 slugging percentage on the year, he has a far superior .700 xSLG, which ranks in the 96th percentile. Expect to see the White Sox star pop out of this mini slump soon.
