Jose Berrios Earns His First Win On Wednesday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios had his best start of the young season on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox. He pitched six innings and allowed eight hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out six. It was his first quality start and he also earned his first win for his efforts. Berrios struggled over his previous two outings before this one. On Opening Day, he only managed to record one out while allowing four earned runs. He then allowed six hits, three walks and three earned runs over five innings in his second outing. We'll see if the 27-year-old can build off this outing in his next trip to the mound on Monday, when he'll be facing the Red Sox once again.
