Jose Altuve Placed On Injured List With Hamstring Strain
3 years agoThe Houston Astros have placed second baseman Jose Altuve (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. First baseman J.J. Matijevic has been added to the team's roster in a corresponding move. The team also transferred first baseman Taylor Jones (back) to the 60-day injured list to make room on the 40-man roster. Altuve initially suffered the injury during Monday's game. He was initially being considered day-to-day by the team, but it appears to be a more significant issue than the team originally thought. Aledmys Diaz figures to be the team's primary second baseman while Altuve is out.
