James Kaprielian Looks Good In Rehab Start
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian (shoulder) looked good in his first rehab start on Friday for Low-A Stockton, allowing two earned runs and three hits while striking out six in five innings pitched. Kaprielian allowed two home runs but threw 41 of his 52 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old right-hander is expected to make his next rehab start at a higher minor league affiliate sometime next week. Barring any setbacks along the way, he should be able to enter the A's starting rotation and make his season debut later this month. In 24 appearances (21 starts) in his second major league season last year, Kaprielian had a 4.07 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 123 K's and 41 walks in 119 1/3 innings.
