Luis Patino Transferred To 60-Day Injured List
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays transferred starting pitcher Luis Patino (oblique) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list on Wednesday. The 22-year-old suffered a strained left oblique muscle in the first inning of his first start of the season. He will now be sidelined until at least early June. In two corresponding moves on Wednesday, the Rays optioned right-handed pitcher Ralph Garza Jr. to Triple-A and selected the contract of another righty pitcher, Dusten Knight. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues should try to hold onto Patino in an IL spot if possible, but it's not the end of the world if you're forced to drop him.
