Nelson Cruz Blasts First Home Run On Sunday
3 years agoWashington Nationals designated hitter Nelson Cruz launched his first home run in a Nationals jersey in Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets. He went 2-for-4 overall in the game and his home run was a three-run shot, providing three of the team's four runs on the day. The 41-year-old is off to a slow start to the year overall. He went just 3-for-16 over the four-game set. Cruz tallied 32 home runs over 140 games last year, splitting his season between the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays. Father Time will certainly take its toll on the 18-year veteran at some point in the near future, but until further notice he should be rostered and started in just about all fantasy leagues.
