Delino DeShields Signs Minor League Deal With Braves
Delino DeShields to a minor league contract. The 29-year-old was a member of the Miami Marlins this spring. He appeared in four spring games with the Marlins and went 1-for-8 with a pair of strikeouts. The team released him just a few days before Opening Day. After spending his first five MLB seasons with the Texas Rangers, DeShields has bounced around the league over the past few years. He made 25 appearances with the Cincinnati Reds last year and slashed .255/.375/.426 with one home run, two stolen bases, six RBI and four runs.

Delino DeShields was sent on a minor league assignment by the Cincinnati Reds. However, he refused the assignment and elected to become a free agent instead. The 29-year-old split the 2021 season between three organizations. He began the year with the Texas Rangers, then spent time with the Boston Red Sox before joining the Reds. He appeared in 25 games for the Reds and slashed .255/.375/.426 with one home run, two stolen bases, six RBI and four runs.
