3 years agoTampa Bay Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat will be a first-liner in Wednesday's clash with Washington. He finished Monday's 6-2 loss to Toronto with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov and has now also practiced with the pair. It appears that Steven Stamkos will drop all the way down to the third line for Wednesday's contest. Palat is a winger with good all-around ability, but he hasn't been very impactful offensively for a pretty big stretch, notching just six points since the start of February. He has 37 points in total for the season in 64 games with 119 shots and 103 hits. Riding with Point and Kucherov puts Palat in a very good situation to get going again offensively.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 days agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators. The two-time Stanley Cup champion will be unavailable for a second consecutive contest. In his absence, Nolan Foote has a chance to fill a middle-six role on Saturday. Foote has gone scoreless in two NHL appearances this season but has found success in the minors. Over 53 AHL appearances, he has produced 18 goals and 39 points. Palat's next opportunity to return will come on Monday against the Vancouver Canucks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat (illness) is poised to rejoin the lineup for Saturday's clash against the Montreal Canadiens. Palat did not play on Wednesday against the Boston Bruins due to an illness. However, he practiced on Friday and is expected to be back in action against the Canadiens. Palat will work with Jack Hughes and Paul Cotter on the first line. The Czech veteran boasts 10 goals and 19 points in 48 games for the year. A spot on the first line next to Hughes places Palat in a good position to make an impact on Saturday, but he hasn't increased his points total in four straight appearances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat (illness) will not play in Wednesday's matchup against Boston. The Czech veteran is feeling under the weather and will come out of the lineup for the second time this season. With Palat out, Kurtis MacDermid will enter the lineup, while Paul Cotter will move to the first line. Cotter impressed with his play early in the campaign but has enjoyed very little offensive success over the last couple of months. The 25-year-old has tallied 10 goals and 16 points in 49 appearances this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat missed the morning skate with an illness and will be a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against Los Angeles. The 32-year-old has struggled to stay in the lineup all season and could be absent again. He recently returned from a lower-body injury. Palat has played well since returning to action, but he can't be happy about his overall contributions. Across 42 outings this season, the veteran winger has tallied only eight goals and 20 points. Chris Tierney filled in for Palat on the top line during the morning skate.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
