Chris Bassitt Throws 4 2/3 Scoreless Innings
3 years agoStarting pitcher Chris Bassitt looked good in his first Spring Training outing as a member of the New York Mets. Pitching against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, he went 4 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, no walks and no runs while striking out three. Bassitt was acquired by the Mets this offseason in a trade with the Oakland Athletics. He is slated to be the team's third starter behind Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer. He'll make his 2022 regular season debut on April 9 against the Washington Nationals. Last year, the right-hander won a career-high 12 games while pitching to a 3.15 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP.
