Max Griffin Takes Close Split-Decision Loss In Columbus
3 years agoPreviously on a three-fight winning streak and hoping to make it four in a row, Max Griffin fell just short on Saturday by dropping a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) to Neil Magny on the main card of the Columbus event. In 15 minutes of action, Griffin tallied 67 significant strikes (75 total strikes) and missed on both of his takedown tries. Griffin did have some bright spots in the contest, including a nice knockdown with a big right hand in the first round. Griffin won two of his three fights on his last streak via finish, and there is no reason to believe he cannot pick up where he left off when he gets back into the Octagon.
