ANALYSIS: You can look at Trendon Watford's game log through the 2022 season and easily spot the turning point in the Blazers' campaign and their goals. Watford played more than 20 minutes in exactly two times before February, but he's now logged 20+ rounds of the clock in 18 of the 22 games Portland has played from Feb. 2 on. Even more, he's topped 30 in all but two of his last 12 games (all of them in March) while starting nine of them. And that won't change any time soon.
With the PDX just accepting the fact that they're going nowhere any time soon, it made sense for them to just throw everything through the window, mightily tank the year, and at least land on a good draft lottery slot. Watford, the undrafted rookie out of Alabama, has been a nice finding down the Blazers depth chart that might have found a path forward to stay relevant when next season tips off. That's because he's manning the wing with gusto, hitting points in bunches, shooting crazy percentages, and contributing on all fronts.
Watford has scored 10+ points in 11 of 12 March games while averaging 15+ PPG this month. He's been good to shot nearly 48% this month while keeping up a 52.7 FG% on the year on 5+ FGA. Yes, the volume is definitely low and that helps in terms of efficiency, but Watford has raised the bar to almost 12 FGA of late while staying on those nice percentages. Watford is also adding 5+ RPG, 3+ APG, 1+ SPG, and 1+ BPG in the past couple of weeks. The turnovers and the fouling are a little bit concerning/high, but you can't ask for much more coming for an undrafted kid doing it in a putrid team.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 8% of leagues ANALYSIS: The surge of Deni Avdija in all fantasy leaderboards has a very easy-to-grasp reason and that's Kyle Kuzma missing time with an injury.
