Steven Matz Throws Two Scoreless Innings On Monday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Steven Matz got the start in Monday's Grapefruit League game and pitched well, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out two without issuing a walk. Matz will be a fixture in the Cardinals rotation after signing a four-year, $44 million deal in November. He was a consistent starting option for the Blue Jays last season, starting 29 games and posting a 3.82 ERA. He doesn't pile up strikeouts, but should still be a decent last starter in mixed leagues.
