Jack Flaherty Won't Be Ready For Opening Day
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (shoulder) won't be ready to go by Opening Day, according to Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak. Flaherty received a platelet-rich plasma injection to "address" a small tear in his right shoulder. He will be shut down from throwing for two weeks, then the team will set a treatment plan. As long as the injection works, Flaherty shouldn't miss too much time, but this could be one of those pesky shoulder injuries that lingers. Fantasy managers should make backup plans just in case.
