Welcome to the Sunday, July 14th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 14th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Max Scherzer to the IL. Aaaaagh! Injury bugs around all lineups this year.
- Andrew Cashner to the BoSox. Does that suddenly make you want to own him?
- Ken Giles hurt during massage. Stop with the “Yes, deep tissue.” “No, it doesn’t hurt (I’m a man).”
- Lourdes Gurriel hitting .296. Selling high?
- Austin Meadows relieved of duties. Still food poisoning? In last 30 days, 0HR, 0SB, .217AVG. Huge drop-off. I’m buying. Anyone selling?
- Mychal Givens w/seventh SV. Too risky for me.
- Some order single shots; Starling Marte(15), Nate Lowe(five), Manny Machado(23) & Max Kepler(23) all order a double.
- Michael Conforto w/17th HR. Is 41% resulting in .241AVG? BABIP only .271.
- Noah Syndergaard looked marvelous (7IP, 2ER, 9K). Yes, but the Marlins are a professional baseball club.
- More action around Jose Ramirez. 8th HR. 48%FB! They need to go over the wall or come down into line drives.
- Jake Odorizzi w/uninspiring W. 5.1IP, 1ER, 2K vs. CLE.
- Jung Ho Kang w/ninth HR. .179AVG. 4% owned. Why?
- HEY OH!! Carlos Martinez w/fourth SV.
- Dakota Hudson is efficient. Knows how to get the W. Too many free passes too.
- Eduardo Escobar. 40.8%Chase rate?! Still gets 19th HR. Sell high.
- Willson Contreras brags on catcher elite w/19th tater.
- Victor Robles trying to get you value somewhere. Steals 13th base.
- Ross Stripling beats Chris Sale?! (It doesn’t work that way!).
- Welcome back A.J. Pollock(three). Follow Cody Bellinger(31) to HR-land.
- BoSox bullpen looked like swiss cheese. RESOLVE! Not the carpet cleaner or determination. Fix it!
- Ian Kennedy. You were cheap & I snickered at the idea of you as closer. 13th SV. I stand corrected.
- Christian Yelich joins the 31HR/21SB club. Jaws drop at the possibility.
- I enjoy seeing Alex Bregman(24HR) light up the box scores. Wait, why am I seeing Tyler White(.218AVG) in the lineup?
- 89% are enjoying the back-to-back HR games from Daniel Murphy(9). Coors is a delight.
- Who is this Luke Jackson guy w/16 saves? Anthony Swarzak back; waiting in the wings.
- Mike Trout sending halos(30) into the stands. Yep, you’re the #1 pick in 2020.
- Have a great Sunday. Sorry for the quickness. It's vacation time.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
