Outfielders Waiver Wire Options For Week 15
For fantasy owners looking for a roster boost, here are five sleeper outfielders that have been making the most out of their recent opportunities. These outfielders can be considered sleepers depending on the league format, including NL-Only and AL-Only leagues, and could be useful fantasy players over the next few weeks if still available in your leagues.
Kole Calhoun - (OF, LAA)
64% Owned in Yahoo
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Formats
Kole Calhoun is in the midst of a solid stretch of games for the Angels. The 26 year-old outfielder has 12 H, 12 R, 3 HR, 9 RBI, and 1 SB over his last eight games. Kole is in position to produce big numbers batting in the leadoff spot for the explosive Angels' offense.
Calhoun continues to share some time with Collin Cowgill in the Angels' outfield, but his offensive ability should keep him in the lineup most nights.
Kole Calhoun has all the tools to contribute in every offensive category and fantasy owners would be smart to add him if he is available.
Christian Yelich - (OF, MIA)
81% Owned in Yahoo
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Formats
Since returning from the disabled list, Christian Yelich has scored a run in each of the three games he has played. The 22 year-old outfielder has also collected three hits and a stolen base in those games. In 66 contests this year, Yelich is slashing .258 with 44 R, 6 HR, 24 RBI, and 11 SB. Yelich has shown a good mix of patience and power to this point in the season. His 33 walks and six triples are both impressive stats for such a young hitter. Christian is worth adding immediately in all fantasy formats.
Oscar Taveras - (OF, STL)
17% Owned in Yahoo
BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting / Add in Deeper Leagues, NL-Only
Despite hitting a home run in his first big league game, Oscar Taveras' first stint with the Cardinals was rather disappointing. The highly-touted prospect is back in St. Louis after spending a few weeks refining his game in Triple-A.Taveras definitely has the skills to produce at the major league level. There have been a few rookies this season (George Springer, Gregory Polanco) that have found success after early struggles, and Oscar could continue that trend.
He may not be worth adding immediately, but consider Taveras an important player to watch over the next stretch of games.
Kevin Kiermaier - (OF, TB)
7% Owned in Yahoo
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues, AL-Only Leagues
Due to a rash of injuries in the Rays' outfield, Kevin Kiermaier has seen steady playing time over the last month of the season. In just 37 games, Kaiermaier is hitting .308 with 12 R, 7 HR, 13 RBI, and 1 SB. Kaiermaier homered in three straight games to end the month of June and is quickly becoming a worthwhile addition in deeper fantasy leagues.
Dayan Viciedo - (OF, CWS)
8% Owned in Yahoo
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues, AL-Only Leagues
Dayan Viciedo is the epitome of a hot-and-cold hitter. When he is hot like he is now, the power numbers come in bunches. Dayan has belted home runs in three of his last five games and is starting to make some noise after a quiet month of June. Fantasy owners would be smart to grab him while he is hot, because the drought will resurface soon enough.
