Fantasy owners turn to the waiver wire to improve upon the categories in which they lack. Be it batting average, home runs, or stolen bases, the Week 10 waiver wire features some sleepers for everyone. Here are five outfielders that will help team managers stay ahead of the game.
A.J. Pollock - (OF, AZ) - 69% Owned
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Formats
After a great start to the 2014 season, A.J. Pollock has developed into the Diamondbacks leadoff hitter and their newest threat at the plate. A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Pollock was a player to watch, and he has flourished of late.A.J. has shown impressive power and speed this season, batting .306 and slugging .535 with 26 R, 6 HR, 15 RBI and 7 SB. Now is the time to add the breakout center fielder off of the waiver wire, if he is still available in your fantasy baseball league.
Marcell Ozuna - (OF, MIA) - 61% Owned
BALLER MOVE: Add in All Formats
A couple of low points have blemished what has otherwise been a productive season for Marcell Ozuna. The heavy-hitting outfielder has been solid at the plate recently, racking up 3 HR and 9 RBI over his last seven games. Ozuna is hitting .261 on the season with 24 R, 9 HR and 32 RBI. He continues to be a serviceable outfielder in all fantasy leagues.
Ben Revere - (OF, PHI) - 49% Owned
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues
After spending some time near the bottom of the Phillies order, Ben Revere finds himself hitting out of the leadoff spot once again. Despite hitting his first home run in 1,556 career plate appearances, Revere should not be counted on to drive in many runs. Where he does help fantasy owners is on the basepaths. He is fourth in the National League with 14 steals. Ben is hitting .291 this season with 23 R, 1 HR, 8 RBI and 14 SB. Now that he is back atop the Phillies order, owners looking for stolen base help should definitely consider adding him.
Josh Willingham - (OF/DH, MIN) - 3% Owned
BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting, Add in AL-Only Leagues
After a lengthy stint on the disabled list, Josh Willingham has resumed his starting role in left field. The veteran outfielder hit 35 HR and 110 RBI for the Twins in 2012, but it remains to be seen how much the 35 year-old has left to offer. Willingham belted his first home run of the year and drove in three runs against Texas on Thursday in what could be the start of a power surge. Owners would be smart to watch Josh closely over the next few weeks.
Oswaldo Arcia - (OF, MIN) - 2% Owned
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper and AL-Only Leagues
The second Minnesota Twin on this list is a much more intriguing fantasy option. After spending time on the disabled list and in the minors, Oswaldo Arcia was recalled prior to the team's four-game series against the Texas Rangers. Arcia did not disappoint, notching 7 H, 2 R, 1 HR and 1 RBI in the series. The 23-year-old outfielder will be the Twins' starting right fielder going forward, and he could blossom into a prolific power hitter. Arcia's potential is through the roof, and he is certainly worth adding in deeper formats.
