Fantasy managers are slowly starting to see top prospects get called up. Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz was promoted earlier in the week, and Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Chase Dollander made his MLB debut just a few weeks ago. As a result, more top prospects should be called up in the coming weeks.

In this article, we will determine if outfielder Zac Veen, starting pitcher Logan Henderson, and infielder Caleb Durbin should be stashed in most leagues. These three prospects are not rostered in many leagues, but Veen, Henderson, and Durbin all have the potential to be sneaky fantasy options later in the year.

Zac Veen, OF, Colorado Rockies

Current Level: Triple-A Albuquerque

After the Rockies struggled to begin the season, they immediately called up their No. 8 prospect to give them a spark on offense. Veen was hitting over .385 at the plate with one home run, four doubles, eight RBI, and one stolen base in his first eight games at Triple-A Albuquerque to start the year.

However, the 23-year-old couldn't make much of an impact in his first few appearances in the majors. He slashed .118/.189/.235 with one home run, two RBI, one stolen base, and 14 strikeouts across his first 12 games with the Rockies. Those poor numbers resulted in Colorado sending him back down to Triple-A on April 23.

Veen batted .118 with a .424 OPS and a 37.8% strikeout rate with one stolen base in 12 games with Colorado.

It was surely a disappointing first stint for the young outfielder in the big leagues, considering his expected batting average (.130), hard-hit rate (30 percent), and strikeout rate (37.8 percent) all ranked extremely poor. Nonetheless, Veen does have the potential to be a solid fantasy option eventually in his career.

Back in 2024, Veen posted solid minor league numbers across rookie ball, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A. He hit a combined .258 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, and 21 stolen bases in just 65 games that year. The Rockies' No. 8 prospect also once stole 55 bases in a season back during the 2022 campaign to go with 12 home runs and 67 RBI.

Even though Veen has had some minor league success in his career, fantasy managers shouldn't be stashing him in most leagues right now. He really looked overmatched at the plate in his first taste in the majors, and it's hard to be confident in him when he does eventually get called up again. So, he should be left on waivers in almost every league.

Logan Henderson, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

When Milwaukee Brewers' No. 12 prospect made his MLB debut last week, there was a lot of hype surrounding the right-hander. Henderson finished with a combined 3.32 ERA and 104 strikeouts across four minor league levels (rookie ball, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A) last season, and the potential is there for him to be a really good MLB starter one day.

Henderson looked the part in that start last week against an up-and-coming Athletics team. In that outing, he threw six innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts to earn his first major league win. The right-hander had everything working in his debut, and his fastball/changeup combo really worked wonders in that start. Those two pitches resulted in a 31 percent whiff rate for the young pitcher.

Henderson cruised through 6.0 IP as he stuck out 9 and allowed just 1 ER. He landed heavily on his patented fastball and changeup combo while filling up the zone.

Unfortunately, he was optioned back down to Triple-A following that start. Even though Henderson looked fantastic in his first career outing, the Brewers didn't need his services any more. With Freddy Peralta, Jose Quintana, Quinn Priester, Chad Patrick, and Tobias Myers occupying the top five spots in the rotation, there was no room for the 23-year-old on the team.

Although Henderson was almost untouchable in that one start, he isn't necessarily a must-stash in most fantasy leagues because it could be a while until we see him back in the majors. The Brewers already have their five starters in the rotation, and they should be getting some reinforcements in the coming weeks in Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) and Aaron Civale (hamstring).

However, Henderson is definitely someone to keep an eye on. It's hard to ignore that one start from last week, and the right-hander has put together some quality outings in the minors so far this season. He has a 3.21 ERA and 24 strikeouts across his three starts at Triple-A Nashville in 2025.

Caleb Durbin, INF, Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers called up their No. 21 prospect last weekend in hopes of getting more production from the third base position. Durbin was slashing .278/.316/.481 with two home runs, 12 runs scored, three RBI, and three stolen bases in 13 games to kick off the season at Triple-A Nashville.

Those solid numbers have continued for the 25-year-old into his major league career. Durbin has looked solid at the hot corner to begin his Brewers stint. He is hitting .261 with one home run, three RBI, four runs, and one stolen base across seven games. Given that Brewers manager Pat Murphy envisions him "playing every day," the infielder could be a potential add in some 12-plus team leagues.

Durbin hit .304 with four home runs, 17 doubles, one triple, 26 walks, 25 RBI, and 36 stolen bases across 69 games at High-A and Double-A in 2023. He then followed up that campaign by hitting .275 with 10 home runs, 25 doubles, 60 RBI, 53 walks, and 31 stolen bases in 90 games at Single-A, Double-A, and Triple-A in 2024.

While Durbin won't contribute much in the home run or RBI department, he has the potential to carry a solid batting average and steal a bunch of bases. If you are in need of some stolen bases in your roto leagues, then the Brewers' No. 21 prospect could be a sneaky add in most leagues. His 28.7 ft/sec sprint speed currently ranks in the 90th percentile.

Therefore, we could see Durbin steal upward of 25 bases for the Brewers this season. He totaled over 30 stolen bases in each of his past three minor league seasons, and the infielder always seems to put the ball in play. The 25-year-old has a 38.9 percent squared-up rate, a 7.5 percent whiff rate, and a 20 percent chase rate in his first seven career major league games.

What's even more impressive is that Durbin has yet to strike out across his 23 at-bats with the Brewers to begin his MLB career. So, he is definitely someone worth adding at this point in the season.
