Joey Ortiz, Connor Norby, Michael Conforto - Fantasy Baseball Draft Values

Joey Ortiz - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Three fantasy baseball sleepers and hitter draft values for 2025 drafts. Read the fantasy baseball outlooks for Joey Ortiz, Connor Norby, Michael Conforto.

If you need some fantasy baseball sleeper targets or you are looking to avoid busts in your upcoming drafts, then look no further!

Joey Ortiz, Connor Norby, and Michael Conforto are all interesting fantasy targets this year, but which of these three are values or busts at their current ADP?

Should you draft Ortiz, Norby, or  Conforto in fantasy baseball? Read the draft recommendations and 2025 fantasy outlooks for each player below.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Joey Ortiz Fantasy Baseball Value

Baller Move: Target in drafts ~pick 263

Current ADP: ~319

Analysis: Ortiz had a great first half last year then had a neck injury, which he largely played through, but his offense suffered in the second half. Speculation is that he played hurt. Even still, Ortiz put up decent production: a .239 batting average, 11 home runs, 60 RBI, 11 stolen bases, and 58 runs in only 440 at-bats.

He will get regular at-bats in Milwaukee again this season, but his position is in question. Manager Pat Murphy will weigh his options among Ortiz, Brice Turang, and the newly acquired Caleb Durbin.

My wager is that Turang, who won a Gold Glove in 2024, will stay at second base, Durbin will get a look at third base, and Ortiz will shift over to shortstop, making him even more valuable while adding another positional eligibility. If Ortiz adds shortstop to his resume, he would be eligible at third base, shortstop, middle infield, and corner infield positions.

While not necessarily a breakout in the typical sense, a season of 600 at-bats could easily yield 15 home runs and 15 stolen bases at an ADP of almost 300.  That is valuable on most fantasy teams, especially those in deeper leagues. As mentioned earlier, you can see how good Ortiz was in the first half before the neck injury. If that was the cause for his second-half slippage, I am willing to give him another shot in 2025.

Michael Conforto Fantasy Baseball Value

Baller Move: Target in drafts ~pick 253

Current ADP~301

Analysis: The Dodgers signed Conforto to a one-year, $17 million deal back in early December. That’s a lot of money to spend on a platoon bat. For that kind of money, I’m betting that Los Angeles will want to get as much out of Conforto as they can and he sees his first 500-plus plate appearance season since 2019.

Conforto will benefit from two major upgrades in 2025: his lineup and his home ballpark. Depending on how closely he follows the Dodgers’ top four, his RBI total should see a nice boost. I’m optimistic about his home run production, too. Of Conforto’s 20 round-trippers hit in 2024, 17 were hit on the road. Escaping one of MLB’s worst ballparks for left-handed power and landing in one of the best should result in a sizable gain.

With such a stacked lineup already in Los Angeles, it is possible that Conforto is relegated to the back third of the lineup and he misses out on a season like Teoscar Hernandez had last year. It is a worthwhile chance to take, given the possibilities and the fact that Conforto still costs next to nothing in drafts this winter.

Connor Norby Fantasy Baseball Value

Baller Move: Target in drafts ~pick 260

Current ADP~273

Connor Norby, Baltimore’s 41st overall pick in the 2021 draft, finally got a sustained taste of the big leagues after being traded to Miami for southpaw Trevor Rogers. Now, while it didn’t go exactly according to plan in terms of discipline (32.1 percent K, 18.1 percent swinging strike), believe it or not, there’s a ton to be excited about.

Fantasy projections are more complex than simple extrapolations, this much is true. However, just expanding Norby’s output with the Fish to 600 PA (during what was widely considered an incredibly disappointing campaign) gets him to a robust .247 BA, 107 R, 63 RBI, 26 HR, and 11 SB. Not too shabby.

We’ll need Norby to get the strikeouts under control and closer to his MiLB career 23 percent K to hit his true ceiling, but it’s not out of the question at just 24 years old. The central point for this prediction that is left vastly ignored remains the underpinning power metrics -- which don’t even need to improve for a mind-bending breakout.

See, you can spot a through-line in the list of hitters matching Norby’s PA total with comparable +14.5 percent Barrel, +.410 xwOBAcon, and +13 percent Pulled FBLD: Marcell Ozuna, Shohei Ohtani, Kerry Carpenter, Jhonkensy Noel, Corey Seager, Brent Rooker, Yordan Alvarez, and Kyle Schwarber.
