Early 2025 Fantasy Football Rankings: Predicting The Top-3 Players At Each Position

Jayden Daniels - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Mike's 2025 fantasy football predictions for the top three scorers at QB, RB, WR, and TE. Expert analysis of the top fantasy players at each position.

The 2025 fantasy football season is still several months away. However, it’s never too early to start preparing for next year.

Much will change between today and the start of the regular season in September. Yet, let’s dive into my way too early rankings, predicting who will finish in the top three at each position.

These predictions are based on half-point PPR and four-point per passing touchdown scoring.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings

1) Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens

While the Ravens added Derrick Henry in free agency, Jackson had his best year as a passer in 2024. He finished as the QB1, averaging 25.3 fantasy points per game, three more than the next closest quarterback. Furthermore, the superstar ended the regular season on fire.

The MVP runner-up averaged 2.7 passing touchdowns and 26.2 fantasy points per game over the final six contests, totaling 20.5 or more in every outing. More importantly, Jackson’s rushing abilities make him all but a lock to finish as a high-end QB1 every year.

2) Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills

Many were afraid to draft Josh Allen in 2024 after the Bills moved on from Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the offseason. However, the superstar quarterback put up similar passing numbers compared to the year before despite the changes to his wide receiver core.

Allen finished the season as the QB2, averaging 23.7 fantasy points per game before the meaningless Week 18 contest. He had 28 passing touchdowns, throwing at least one to 11 different receivers. Furthermore, the superstar had double-digit rushing scores for the second consecutive season.

3) Jayden Daniels – Washington Commanders

There isn’t a more popular quarterback in the fantasy football world right now than Daniels. The Offensive Rookie of the Year Award winner finished last season as the QB5, averaging 20.9 fantasy points per game, totaling 25 passing touchdowns and six rushing scores.

However, Daniels would have finished as the QB2, averaging 23.1 fantasy points per game, if not for the two contests he left early. The former LSU star was unstoppable during the fantasy playoffs, averaging 3.3 passing touchdowns and 30 fantasy points per game.

Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings

1) Bijan Robinson – Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy players had high hopes for Robinson last year after the Falcons moved on from former head coach Arthur Smith. Unfortunately, the superstar started the season as the RB21 over the first five weeks, averaging 11.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling one offensive touchdown.

Thankfully, that changed over the final 12 weeks. Robinson was the RB2 from Week 6 through Week 18, averaging 21.1 fantasy points per game, totaling 14 touchdowns, including two in three consecutive games to end the year. I’m betting on a massive third-year breakout from the former Texas superstar.

2) Saquon Barkley – Philadelphia Eagles

Unfortunately, Barkley didn’t play in Week 18, keeping him from breaking Eric Dickerson’s rushing record. However, the former Penn State star was the clear-cut RB1 over the first 17 weeks of the season. He averaged 21.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 41 more than any other running back.

The superstar had 13 rushing touchdowns and 15 offensive scores despite Jalen Hurts totaling 14 rushing touchdowns last year. Barkley will be most experts’ RB1 next season. However, he could be a bust. Every running back with over 2,000 rushing yards saw their efficiency severely slip the following year.

3) Jahmyr Gibbs – Detroit Lions

Gibbs is an elite fantasy football running back. Despite splitting the backfield workload with David Montgomery, the former Alabama star finished last season as the RB2, averaging 19.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Yet, he had only five games with more than 16 rushing attempts.

While Gibbs is in a split backfield, the superstar was a league winner when Montgomery went down with a knee injury. He averaged 22.5 touches for 150.3 scrimmage yards, two touchdowns, and 29.3 fantasy points per game from Week 15 through Week 18, totaling 23.4 or more in every outing.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings

1) Ja'Marr Chase – Cincinnati Bengals

Hopefully, the Bengals signed Chase to a massive extension this offseason, keeping the superstar wide receiver from being a training camp holdout this upcoming summer. Last year, he finished as the WR1, averaging 20 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Despite Tee Higgins averaging 9.1 targets per game last season, Chase averaged 3.9 more fantasy points per contest than any other wide receiver. Fantasy players should draft the former LSU star as the clear-cut WR1 and the 1.01 pick next year, barring an issue with his contract.

2) Justin Jefferson – Minnesota Vikings

While some were afraid to draft Jefferson last season after the Vikings lost Kirk Cousins in free agency, the superstar had another excellent year for fantasy players. The former LSU star finished as the WR2, averaging 15.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 11.1 or more in all but three contests.

Furthermore, Jefferson matched his career high with 10 receiving touchdowns in 2024. Sam Darnold played well enough for the superstar to have another outstanding fantasy season. Whether it’s Darnold, J.J. McCarthy, or Aaron Rodgers under center next year, expect another massive season from Jefferson.

3) Malik Nabers – New York Giants

Many won’t agree with this ranking, especially given how awful the Giants’ quarterback room was last year. However, that’s exactly why I’m excited for Nabers’ sophomore season. He finished as the WR7 as a rookie, averaging 14.6 fantasy points per game despite missing two contests with a concussion.

Imagine how good Nabers can be if New York lands a big-name quarterback in the NFL Draft or via trade. The team could sign a Jacoby Brissett-type bridge-gap quarterback, and it would still be an upgrade for Nabers. He could finish the season as the overall WR1.

Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings

1) Trey McBride – Arizona Cardinals

While Marvin Harrison Jr. was a bust as a rookie, McBride had an outstanding 2024 season. The former Colorado State star finished the year as the TE3, averaging 12.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he averaged only 0.1 fantasy points per game, fewer than the TE1 last season.

Fantasy players shouldn’t be surprised if McBride is far and away the top-scoring tight end next year. He ranked among the league leaders despite struggling to find the end zone. McBride didn’t have a receiving touchdown until Week 17, ending the season with two. Expect positive touchdown regression from him in 2025.

2) Brock Bowers – Las Vegas Raiders

Many fantasy players avoided drafting Bowers last year because of the Raiders quarterback situation. However, the former Georgia star had an outstanding rookie season despite catching passes from three sub-par quarterbacks. He ended the year as the TE1, averaging 12.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

After totaling single-digit fantasy points in three of his first four games, Bowers scored fewer than 11.1 in only four contests over the final 14 weeks. Furthermore, the superstar rookie tight end led Las Vegas in receptions (112), targets (153), receiving yards (1,194), and touchdowns (five).

3) George Kittle – San Francisco 49ers

Sam LaPorta will likely be the TE3 in most expert rankings heading into next season. However, don’t be surprised when Kittle has another top-three finish in 2025. The veteran was the TE2 last year, averaging 13.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling eight receiving touchdowns, a team-high.

More importantly, Kittle has finished as a top-five tight end in six of the seven seasons since his rookie year, including four straight. The 49ers will move on from Deebo Samuel Sr. this offseason. Meanwhile, Brandon Aiyuk is coming off a torn ACL. Expect another high-end TE1 finish from Kittle next year.
