The Denver Broncos entered the 2022 season with high expectations. They had traded for Russell Wilson in the offseason and believed a trip to the Super Bowl was possible.
However, nothing went according to plan. The Broncos had a 5-12 record in 2022 and finished last in the AFC West division.
Unfortunately, Denver doesn’t have their first or second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Those picks belong to the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Wilson deal. However, the Broncos do have a pair of early third-round picks. One is theirs, while the other is from the Indianapolis Colts.

What Are The Denver Broncos Biggest Needs On Offense?
Denver’s top need on offense was finding a new head coach. Thankfully, the Broncos hired Sean Payton as their new head coach after working out a trade with the New Orleans Saints.
On the field, Denver needs to improve their offensive line. They have two starters set to hit the open market next month, including right tackle Billy Turner. Furthermore, the Broncos are reportedly considering trading left tackle Garett Bolles.
While the team doesn’t pick until the third round, this year’s draft class is full of starting-caliber offensive linemen. One potential option is Andrew Vorhees. The former USC lineman can play multiple spots on the offensive line. Furthermore, many draft scouts believe he can start as a rookie.
What Are The Denver Broncos Biggest Needs On Defense?
Last year the Broncos had arguably the best defense in the NFL. However, they have a few players hitting the open market next month. Among them are defensive linemen Dre’Mont Jones and DeShawn Williams. The duo combined for 11 sacks last year, finishing first and fourth on the team.
One potential replacement option is Florida’s Gervon Dexter. The former Gator wasn’t a sack machine in college. However, he flashed great potential at the line of scrimmage, including the ability to shut down running lanes.
Another need is at cornerback. Patrick Surtain II is one of the best in the NFL. However, Ronald Darby missed 12 games last year. Furthermore, the Broncos will likely release the veteran cornerback this offseason, opening nearly $10 million in salary cap space. Adding a mid-round cornerback to an already elite unit would be wise.
