Tre Mason (RB, STL) - 2015 Fantasy Football Sleeper

Baller Move: Target as high end RB3/Flex option, -90 overall

Current ADP: 104 Standard, 85 PPR

AnalysisTre Mason started his 2014 rookie season behind touted fantasy star Zac Stacy. Mason ended the season leading the Rams in both rushing yards and scores with 765 yards and 4 touchdowns. The rookie back did this while only playing in 12 games and sharing time in a crowded backfield with Stacy, Benny Cunningham, and even wide receiver Tavon Austin.

Mason was still able to earn more than 100 rushes than the next leading carrier and came up with 16 receptions, which was 2nd among running backs on the team. This season Tre has already become yesterday's news because of Todd Gurley, the 10th overall pick out of Georgia. There is no doubt that the Rams coaches and front office personnel see Gurley as the future of the team, but currently the rookie back is coming off an ACL injury and will not be seeing any playing time in the preseason.

Going into his second season, Mason should see most of the first team snaps in an offense that will be better with the addition of Nick Foles at quarterback. Mason will be the feature back for the beginning of the season as well as a necessary handcuff as Gurley is eased into the starting role during the season. The Rams will be using Mason as their clear cut RB1 until they feel Gurley is ready so expect great initial returns on a value pick in the middle to late rounds. As the year progresses Mason and Gurley will more than likely split touches at an even pace. The diminutive back out of Auburn has fallen off a lot of radars but should be a great value pick as he is poised to do big things this season.
