BALLER MOVE: Target in Rounds 3-4
Current ADP: 34 STD, 34 STD
ANALYSIS: Of the rookie running backs, Melvin Gordon is the most certain to see immediate playing time-- he has run with the first team throughout preseason.
San Diego finished in the bottom third of the league last year in rushing, so they traded up in the first round and drafted the Wisconsin running back. They also nabbed guard Orlando Franklin, one of the best linemen on the market, and right tackle Joe Barksdale to upgrade the offensive line.
Last year, the Chargers ran the ball 398 times- a huge drop off from their 486 rushes in 2013. It can be assumed that the moves made this offseason were a commitment to run the ball more. You can’t beat an opportunity like this for a young running back.
