Rankings Foreword from Zach Wilkens
One thing I like to stress about my fantasy football rankings is that they change often. As news pours out over the NFL preseason, these rankings will continue to be molded and shaped in the coming weeks, so make sure to check back for any updates! In this introduction to my rankings I’d like to cover a few players that I differ considerably from the consensus on. Colin Kaepernick is a QB I am loving right now. His offense is bolstered by a healthy Michael Crabtree and the new addition of Stevie Johnson, who I think is criminally underrated right now. If this leads to more passes per game, he will be a huge draft day steal. At RB, I tend to think talent is the most important factor and every year talented guys come out of nowhere to see a large volume of carries. Right now, I just don’t see Zac Stacy as very talented. He struggled heavily in the final five games of last season, and then the Rams drafted Tre Mason whom I love. Stacy might have a few nice games early on based on volume, but I expect his carries will decrease as the season goes on. At WR there are a couple older guys I am wary of, those being Roddy White and Wes Welker. White finished the season strong, but he isn’t going to be the #1 with Julio Jones back and they will keep him from being a stud week-in and week-out like many seem to think. As for Welker, he was largely dependent on touchdowns last year, and while the yardage was solid it was not the 1200+ that used to make him so appealing. With the Broncos entire offense almost certainly regressing, Welker getting anything more than 6-7 TD would surprise me. Those are some quick thoughts behind my some of my fantasy football rankings. Be sure to check RotoBaller for more articles on my rankings and follow me on Twitter @LopsidedTrades for quick thoughts.
