The Grim News on Jaylon Smith
The injury to Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith is unfortunately as bad if not worse than we initially thought. Smith was carted off during the Fiesta Bowl loss to Ohio State and it has been confirmed that he has suffered a torn ACL and MCL and will be undergoing surgery this week. This complicates things for Smith, who was seen as a top 10 overall pick and potentially even someone who could have went in the top 5 as Dallas at #4 and Jacksonville at #5 seemed to be likely destinations. Smith is a junior and has yet to officially declare for the draft and now we must wonder if this impacts his decision. Stay tuned as the Jaylon Smith decision has the potential to shake up the top of the draft board very quickly.
