Is Mark Ingram II Hurt Or Healthy?
Ingram entered New Orleans' Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders firmly entrenched as the Saints' RB2 behind Alvin Kamara. The veteran has tallied 196 yards and a TD on the ground this season, while also bringing in 11 catches for 46 yards through the air. Ingram was injured at the outset of the Saints' Week 8 win over the Raiders and did not return.
Unfortunately, it looks as though Ingram suffered an MCL sprain against the Raiders and could miss 3-4 weeks with the injury.
Mark Ingram II Fantasy Football Outlook
The veteran has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain which is likely to cost him 3-4 weeks. New Orleans has not placed him on Injured Reserve at this time, though a trip to IR would guarantee that Ingram is sidelined for at least four weeks.
Ingram has spent the year firmly entrenched as Alvin Kamara's backup, though he showed little fantasy value when Kamara was forced to miss games in Weeks 2 and 4. Ingram totaled just 88 rushing yards over those contests in Kamara's absence.
The 32-year-old backup has been nothing more than an insurance policy for Kamara's fantasy managers this season. As the vet now faces a multiple-week injury absence, those fantasy GMs that need the roster spot can safely drop Ingram.
