BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 46% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Seattle Mariners second baseman/third baseman Ty France is off to a strong start to the season and appears primed to be one of the Mariners' most productive hitters this year. He's started each of the Mariners' first eight games, hitting second in the lineup each time out. Through those eight games, he's slashed .290/.389/.452 with one home run, two doubles, four RBI and five runs.
France is a solid contact hitter. He hit .305 over 43 games last year as his season was split between the Mariners and the San Diego Padres. He also has some clear power potential. He hit 27 home runs over 76 games at Triple-A in 2019, posting an OPS of 1.247 during that stretch. Even though his slugging percentage is just .452 so far this year, he's still very clearly making good contact. He has a hard-hit rate of 36.8%, up from 29.8% last year, and his sweet spot percentage (63.2%) dwarves his 2020 clip (44.2%).
France should be owned in just about all fantasy leagues. Second base is one of the weakest positions in fantasy and France has a good chance to finish within the top-10 at the position by the end of the year. He has the upside to flirt with top-5 at the position even. Expect for him to hit somewhere around .300 this year with solid power numbers to boot.
