BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 7% of Fleaflicker Leagues
EXPERT ANALYSIS: The 6'5" lefty has shown inconsistency in his rookie season, which is to be expected. On one hand, he has only allowed one ER in his last three starts. On the other hand, in the last two of those starts he went 3.1 IP and 5 IP respectively. A strained left rhomboid (don't ask) was to blame for his shortened start on August 29th and he was eased back into action last night. Manaea did earn his first road victory and now stands 6-9 with a 4.23 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 7.8 K/9 on the season. This top 100 prospect averaged double digit on his K per nine averages throughout the minors, so that number will likely climb with experience. Sean Manaea is probably more attractive in dynasty leagues than standard at the moment, but he has proven capable of shutting down opponents at times this year. He gets a fairly tough matchup against the Astros next time out before facing the Angels, who have been surging at the plate recently. Manaea has all the potential in the world and could benefit owners in need of Ks, but tread carefully if your pitching depth isn't thin.
