Trae Young Ready For New Role Offensively
1 year agoAtlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young is looking forward to a full season under new head coach Quin Snyder and is confident that he can work well together with Dejounte Murray. "After going through a year, we knew it was gonna be some adjustment periods from both being point guards and both having the ball in our hands a lot," Young said on the "Gil's Arena" podcast. "But we've been working, we've been talking. I think the thing about us is having Quin, like he's such a smart coach. When it comes to offense, it's not gonna be the same. Since I've been in the league, it's been a lot of just me and just pick-and-rolls… There's a lot of new things that we're going to add to our team and it may surprise people." Following Murray's addition, Young's scoring numbers dipped last season, but he posted a career-high 10.2 assists, and the two-time All-Star could be fueled by his World Cup snub in 2023-24.
